Aviva has a well suite of protection and coverage products, ranging from their term insurance to whole life plans, as well as the very comprehensive Multiple Payout Critical Illness Plan (My MultiPay CI) able to square off most insurers (check our review for that). Not to mention they have one of the most competitive premiums in the market as well.
There is another version of Aviva’s MyProtector Term plan – called the Aviva MyProtector – Decreasing (for mortgage reducing term). The Aviva MyProtector Legacy (for whole life term insurance coverage with returns) has since been removed from the market.

MyProtector-Decreasing
Aviva also has another version of their term insurance, and is catered to those who wants their insurance coverage to be a little more flexible as their commitments and liabilities get smaller each year.
We are talking about mortgage loan, car commitments or even children’s education fees. During this interim if you would like your coverage to reduce accordingly with a huge range of interest rate available, MyProtector – Decreasing plan may suit you.
Although our observation is that the premiums may not differ that much from the normal version and may make sense to get the normal level MyProtector Term instead.
This Plan:
- Has a sum assured that will decrease based on the calculated interest rate every year, over the whole policy term.
- Has Interest Rate Options ranging of: 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 7% or 9%
- Pays a reduced lump sum in the event of Death, TPD or Terminal Illness
- Has the option to cover from 10 years to up to 99 years old with a one year interval in between. Very flexible.
