Using Your CDC Vouchers
On January 3, 2023, every Singaporean household will receive $300 in CDC Vouchers as part of the enhanced support provided by the Assurance Package and the $1.5 billion Support Package announced in October 2022. These vouchers can be used to purchase goods and services at participating hawkers, heartland merchants, and supermarkets. The vouchers are intended to help offset the impact of the additional Goods & Services Tax (GST) on Singaporean households. Only one member of the household, with a Singpass account, is required to claim the vouchers on behalf of the entire household. To claim the vouchers, visit go.gov.sg/cdcv, select the CDC Vouchers Scheme 2023, and login with your Singpass account. The vouchers must be used by December 31, 2023.
Singaporean households will have the opportunity to receive $300 in CDC Vouchers on January 3, 2023. $150 of these vouchers can be used at participating heartland merchants, hawkers, and other participating locations to purchase goods and services. The vouchers will be divided equally, with $150 specifically designated for use at participating supermarkets. The CDC vouchers can be used at FairPrice, Sheng Siong, Prime, Hao Mart, and U Stars supermarkets, which together have over 300 locations in Singapore. This is the first time that the CDC voucher program has allowed for the vouchers to be used at supermarkets. It is possible that other supermarkets, such as Giant and Cold Storage, may join the program at a later date.
Singaporean households have until December 31, 2023 to claim and use their CDC Vouchers.
To claim your CDC vouchers:
1. Go to go.gov.sg/cdcv and select the “claim” button for the current year’s vouchers.
2. Sign in with your Singpass and verify your information to receive your vouchers. Only one household member needs to do this.
3. You will receive an SMS with a unique link from RedeemSG. Share this link with other members of your household.
4. To ensure the link is legitimate, make sure the link starts with “https://voucher.redeem.gov.sg”
Steps for using CDC vouchers:
1. Access your unique link and choose the vouchers you want to use, which are differentiated by color: teal for hawkers and heartland merchants, and yellow for supermarkets.
2. Select the amount you want to spend and click “show voucher.”
3. Present the QR code to the store staff for scanning to complete your payment.
A good 98.7% of Singaporean households have claimed their 2021 and 2022 Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers at December 31, 2022, with a total of over S$228 million being spent at participating merchants. Individuals can also choose to donate their remaining vouchers to charity via the CDC vouchers scheme website until January 31.
The government is taking steps to mitigate the impact of inflation on Singaporeans through a variety of measures, including the CDC vouchers, according to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. In addition to the vouchers, the government has provided cash assistance and increased utility bill rebates for HDB households. Mr. Wong stated that the government will continue to implement measures to support Singaporeans, particularly vulnerable and low-income groups, in the coming year through the budget. He emphasized that the government will always be there to help Singaporeans cope with rising prices and inflation.
